The submission of poster is open to everyone who wish to present ideas or information of statistical or data science application in drug and biologic product development and evaluation and who can be students from high schools to graduate schools. All students who currently study statistics and data science and participate in 2025 summer intern programs in Pharmaceutical/biotech industries, regulatory agencies and health organizations are encouraged to submit posters based on their summer intern projects. In addition, students who participate in the 2025 summer boot camp for biostatistics and data science offered by the University of Connecticut are encouraged to submit posters based on their course projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to practice presenting your scientific results to others in a logical and concise manner. This is also a great opportunity to meet scientific peers of your age as well as more senior colleagues and interact with and learn from all of them. The competition process will select posters for the poster award. In addition, the intern posters may be invited for paper submission to the New England Journal of Statistics in Data Science. The evaluation will separate interns, summer boot camp students, and high school students. The SIP 2025 poster committee will grade the posters based on merits in contents, such as creativity and clarity.

All posters submitted will be presented in person during the poster session of the conference. Please fill out the submission form and register for SIP 2025. The promotion code for waiving the SIP registration fee will be emailed to you after the submission form is completed. Please use the same email address when filling out the submission form and registering for the conference. The submission deadline is August 12, 2025.

Poster should be a PDF file with a 16:9 aspect ratio. If you use PowerPoint to create your PDF, simply select the widescreen 16:9 slide size.

SIP Poster Session Set-up Details

The SIP 2025 Poster Session is on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 11:45am to 2:30pm, in the Alumni Center Great Hall.

This is in very close walking distance to Science1, the Conference venue. More details can be found here:https://events.stat.uconn.edu/SIP2025/venue2025.html

Bring your poster to the Registration Table in Science1 either on either on Thursday (all day) or Friday (by 9am). There is a very important conference keynote just prior to the poster session, that you will want to be in attendance for.

Our Conference Services team will bring your posters to the Alumni Center on Friday morning and set them up for you. This will happen just after 9am.

You are also welcome to put your poster up just at the beginning of the Poster Session. We will have boards and easels, as well as pins/clips to affix your poster to the board.

The boards are 36 inches x 48 inches. Your poster can be displayed either vertically or horizontally.

We anticipate that the Poster Session will truly get going at 12pm, as it will take a few minutes to walk from Science1, after Yili Pritchett’s Keynote, to the Alumni Center.

At the end of the Poster Session, please take your poster with you. We recommend that you plan to leave the Alumni Center by 2:20pm, in order to make the start of the next session (a Panel in Programming and Data Science in Pharma) that begins at 2:30pm.
